Kitchen Remodeling Companies
Read this article before you hire any contractor. I have written a number or articles on kitchen remodeling and on how to find the right contractor and this one is basically meant to provide you with some much-needed information when planning to hire a remodeler.
I will present this in point format to make it easier for you to follow and skim through. Read right through to the end and you will be glad you did.
Home inspection
Kitchen remodeling companies will want to inspect your home before producing a quotation. This enables them to know what will be needed and to access the general magnitude of the job.
Approve the design
After inspecting your home, they will then come up with a proposal or design for remodeling the kitchen. Some of the good remodeling contractors I know are able to provide a 3D-demo of how the kitchen will look after the job is completed. They expect you to sign and approve the design before they start work.
Quotation
Once the kitchen remodeling company has inspected your home and presented a design. The next step is for them to produce a quotation, which you're expected to sign before the job resumes. This is basically an agreement contract, which would essentially give them a go-ahead. This contract will entail the amount of work to be done, the timeline and the materials to be used.
Purchase order
Some companies may require you to produce a purchase order and some are simply happy with the contract as it entails everything. When I was first asked to produce a purchase order I was confused but then soon found out that it is merely a document stating I am willing to pay for the pre-specified services as listed in the quotation.
